The steamed grouper justified the boat ride and wrist injury—garlicky, sour from pure lime juice, with the prized cheek meat that disappeared before anyone else could claim it, pulled fresh from the ocean mere minutes before cooking. The good? Calamari swimming in water moments before hitting the fryer, rock snail sashimi defying mushy expectations with sweet crunchy texture, Peanut's extreme nimbleness navigating floating platforms while the blogger fell into the water, dining area legitimately rocking with waves while fish swim beneath your feet, and WhatsApp reservation system that sends a boat to collect you from the mainland. The not-so-good? Walking planks on 2x4s and bamboo while holding expensive camera equipment, falling into the ocean during filming (second floating restaurant mishap after Singapore), hurting wrist badly enough to lose arm functionality, restaurant literally so sketchy the host advises staying in dining room only, and Koh Kood being "not a foodie island" with limited eating options.
