The Visit
The reviewer visited Radin's Delicatessen after numerous recommendations, eager to see if it could match the legendary Jewish delis of New York. While the experience didn't quite reach the heights of Katz's or Second Avenue Deli, the reviewer found Radin's to be a fantastic local option with standout value. The portions were enormous, prices were very reasonable, and the overall meal captured the spirit of a New York deli without the long drive. The experience was satisfying and memorable.

Quotes
"Hands down, the biggest pastrami sandwiches I've ever seen in my life, and I've seen a bunch... 28 bucks for four meals, if you think about it, it's not too bad."
"I gotta say that the prices were very reasonable, I felt like the portions were humongous for what you get, you know, everything from the sandwich to the huge matzo bowl, even the egg cream was $6 in New York, this tends to be, like, 8 bucks or even 10 bucks, so, uh, very reasonable prices."
"The matzo ball is super fluffy, it's got a great texture, like, it's got, like, a bounce to it... The texture is great, like, I really like the texture."
"She was so right to recommend the latkes, because, honestly, these potato pancakes are incredible"
"Is this as good as the best delis in New York? I wouldn't say so, I would say that this is more of an average deli in New York, it's definitely not among my favorites"
Our Reflection
Raiden's delivers authentic New York deli experience to South Jersey with record-breaking portions but average NYC-level execution. Zaftig pastrami sandwich achieving biggest-ever status (four meals worth, $28 reasonable), effortless tenderness despite lean marbling, though rye bread crust too thick/hard masking pastrami flavor and lacking bark integration. Potato latkes stealing show—incredible fluffy-moist interior, crispy non-greasy exterior, perfectly seasoned. Matzo ball soup generous (more matzo than soup) with bouncy fluffy texture but sorely lacking salt (needs self-seasoning), dry chicken jerky-like, standard bow-tie pasta. Egg cream only okay—not carbonated enough, flat, head receding quickly, though balanced sweetness appreciated ($6 vs NYC's $8-10). Pickle half-sour, crunchy but dry/not briny enough. No half-and-half option disappointing. Comparable to average NYC deli, not Katz's/Second Avenue/Leidman's level, but fantastic South Jersey representation eliminating two-hour drive.
