Eating With Tod
About
Best sandwich shop in whole of Barcelona (heard on grapevine, recommended by so many people). Italian focaccia sandwiches. Owner Vittorio moved to Barcelona 25 years ago, inspired by grandmother putting food in bread for weekend stadium matches with uncle (2:30pm games, couldn't eat with family, grandmother put meatballs in sandwich). Everything from Italy, everything from south except mortadella from Bologna (capital). One made from family near Napoli. Every Italian area does own focaccia. Vittorio prepared different focaccia, more neutral, digestion really easy, easier than other bread. Gigantic toasting machines for finishing. 12 slices mortadella for every sandwich.

"The price point this was 10 euros. That's like eight pound fifty for this sandwich. Which is absolutely huge. But I think that's an absolute bargain. He put 12 slices of mortadella in it. 12 slices? It's like he might even be losing money on this sandwich."
"Oh my god, but the thing that makes this so different is this bread. It's almost like a. Focaccia, ciabatta kind of bread where you get that crispy top, but you've still got that pillowy soft bread underneath."
