About
Ambassador's Clubhouse is the New York outpost of a London restaurant that received a Michelin star just two days before the New York location opened on February 11th, 2026. It comes from JKS Restaurants, a hospitality group founded by three siblings who named it after their grandfather, an Indian ambassador. The group is also responsible for Gymkhana, one of the most renowned Indian restaurants in the world. The New York location was designed by North End, the same design firm behind the London original, and features hand painted ceilings, stained glass, tiffany lamps, navy and maroon color schemes, and a grand staircase at the entrance bearing a portrait of the grandfather himself. The menu is rooted in Punjabi cuisine from both India and Pakistan, spanning royal palace dishes and street food traditions. Ambassador's Clubhouse New York holds the only traditional clay charcoal tandoor in the entire city.
The Visit
Ambassadors Clubhouse delivers a standout dining experience, impressing with both its inventive Punjabi dishes and exceptional service. The reviewer highlights the vibrant ambiance and notes the restaurant's popularity, mentioning a long waiting list. Signature dishes like the Beetroot Raj Kachori Chaat and Wagyu Beef Keema Naan left a strong impression, while the attentive staff, some poached from other top restaurants, elevated the overall experience. Reservations are tough to secure, reflecting its immediate acclaim.
What They Ate
Quotes
"[Wagyu Beef Naan] As soon as I put it in my mouth, I didn't even start chewing it. I was immediately hit with this savory flavor. Buttery, you get that strong meat flavor, some onion."
"[BBQ Butter Chicken Chops] The chicken is so moist. It has a little bit of spice to it. You really taste that smoky flavor. 10 out of 10."
"[Beliram Lamb Curry] The lamb is tender. Flavorful. You taste garlic, a little bit of cilantro. It's pretty spicy. This is delicious."
"That was an outstanding meal. The food was amazing, the ambiance is truly spectacular, and obviously the service is so, so good."
Our Reflection
Ambassador's Clubhouse arrived in New York with enormous expectations and, from the very first week of service, showed every sign of meeting them. The restaurant is visually one of the most stunning dining rooms in the city, with a level of detail in the design that extends from the hand painted ceiling all the way down to the monogrammed coasters and bespoke plateware for every single dish. The wagyu beef naan with bone marrow sauce is the kind of dish that earns a restaurant its reputation on its own. Rich, smoky, and deeply savory, it pairs the luxury of wagyu with the comfort of freshly tandoor baked bread in a way that feels both indulgent and completely natural. The butter chicken chops are the crowd pleaser of the menu, tender and perfectly charred with a cilantro freshness that keeps the richness in check. The beliram lamb curry brings real heat and depth, and the spiced paratha alongside it is the right call over rice. For a restaurant one week into its run, in the middle of a blizzard, the execution was remarkably polished. Getting a reservation will not be easy, but it is worth every effort.
